Ki Jun Kim studied architecture at Korea University (B. Eng.), at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Zurich and at the University of the Arts in Berlin (Dipl. -Ing.) with DAAD scholarship with Prof. Alfred Grazioli, Prof. Christoph Gengnagel and Prof. Michael Bollé.
He worked as an Architect in various architectural offices including Ison Architects, Peter Zumthor, Diener & Diener and Barkow Leibinger and as an Assistant Professor at Institue for Sustainable Urbanism, Department of Architecture at Technical University of Braunschweig. Since 2008 in collaboration with Jeongmeen Lee, a ceramics artist, Ki Jun Kim participated in various exhibitions and art competitions as KUL.
